Floyd Mayweather Jr has promised to knock Manny Pacquiao out when boxing's biggest stars clash next year. Unbeaten American Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs) and Philippines hero Pacquiao (50-3, 38 KOs) are set to meet in 2010, subject to the fighters finalising contracts for a March 13 welterweight clash at a venue to be decided.
Mayweather, 32, made his bold prediction for the potential match-up while appearing on HBO Television's Joe Buck Live chat show on Tuesday night. "Pacquiao's a good fighter but I've been around the sport a long time and I've dominated boxing for around 15 years now. No-one has defeated me yet so we'll have to see," Mayweather said. Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao’s conditioning expert Alex Ariza is getting a little peeved with the camp of Floyd Mayweather Jr who keep demanding drug tests in addition to those conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and continue to play on the unsubstantiated allegations of Floyd Mayweather Sr that Pacquiao is on some performance-enhancing drug.
Ariza said he didn’t have any problem with Olympic-style drug tests being conducted on Pacquiao but said “no matter where they try to look for something, at the end of the day Mayweather is going to have to get in that ring and he is just going to have to show up. All the posturing about Manny getting knocked out or being on steroids…all of that s—t, he is going to eventually have to step into that ring and he’s going to have to fight. There’s not going to be any excuses.” Read more... http://teampilipinas.info/2009/12/ma...uiao-says.html |

Undefeated 22 year old junior middleweight Shawn “Showtime” Porter (11-0-9 KO’s) says he learned a lot from being in the ring with pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao during the Filipino southpaw’s preparation for his “Fire Power” showdown with WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto last November 14.
Looking ahead at the planned fight against undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr on March 13, Porter said he hasn’t been asked as yet but that he would “love to get in camp again to help him" prepare for another championship bout. He said "I was proud to be a part of the Pacquiao camp and it was an unforgettable experience, especially as a young fighter on the way up.” Read more... http://teampilipinas.info/2009/12/po...-pacquiao.html |

Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. Latest Update & News - Dec. 18, 2009
FightHype.com recently spoke with former undisputed welterweight champion Zab "Super" Judah, who surprised us with the news that Floyd Mayweather reached out to him about the possibility of joining his camp as a sparring partner to help him prepare for his highly-anticipated clash with Manny Pacquiao. "I mean, we're already talking about it. Yeah, we're already talking about it and it could be happening," Judah revealed. Although it's nearly impossible to find a sparring partner who can emulate the movement and quick footwork that Pacquiao possesses, Judah does fight in the same southpaw stance and arguably has just as fast, if not faster, hand speed as the Filipino superstar. Not to mention, thus far, Judah has probably had the most success againstMayweather in recent years. Read more... http://teampilipinas.info/2009/12/za...ayweather.html |
